The pool is 9 metre by 5 metre and is completely secluded. The pool has walk in steps ideal for children. There is plenty of terraced area around the pool and sunloungers, parosols and drinks tables are provided. There is an out side shower and toilet. There is also a covered bar area and seating around the pool. There is a barbeque and dining table and chairs for alfresco eating and a quiet shady area between the lemon and palm trees to sit quietly and read .
At the front of the house there is room for 2/3 cars to park. And in spring there are lots of daffodils and roses in the garden. Also mustn't forget the orange and lemons trees. So whether its a jug of sangria or a gin and tonic the fruits are there waiting for you to pick them.
The villa is secluded and tranquil but only 5 minutes drive from town. We recommend car hire as it would be very difficult to truly appreciate the area without one. The surrounding area is all olive groves. In which the locals go on long walks to keep fit. There is also a laguna just five minutes drive towards aquilla del a frontera for picnics, walks and bird watching. Puente Genil is a large bustling town with lots of shops, bars, restaurants and night clubs if thats your fancy. As you drive into Puente you come to Carrefour its a large supermarket with all the provisions you need for a good holiday, but for some lovely wine very cheap go to Lidl just behind .There is also Dia and Mercadona supermarkets. Carrefour is open from 10am to 10 pm Monday to Saturday. It does not close for siesta. All shops are closed on Sunday and the town shops close between 2pm and 5pm for siesta. The area around Carrefour has a bowling alley, fast food place, Pizza place, internet cafe, cinema, coffee shops and a very good restaurant called La Lemon. Further into town you have Central bar, Casa Pedro a highly recommended restaurant to eat and also a Chinese restaurant. There are numerous fiestas through- out the year so keep an eye out. Pete & Sylvia who manage the villa for us will also be up to date on whats going on. Puente Genil really comes to life at night when all the Spanish families come out to chat in the bars and cafes along the street.

Things to do
Now that you know what’s in the local area it’s time to spread your wings.
There are many day trips to be made from here if your into rambling, mountaineering cycling or horse riding they are all available. El Torcal is one of Spains most beautiful natural parks, and is an ideal area from where to explore the very best of rural Andalucia.10 kilometres west of Antequera El Torcal Park is a haven of peace and tranquillity, 17 square kilometres of some of the most beautiful and impressive limestone landscapes in Europe To reach the heart of the park the road winds up to 1,100 metres above sea level with spectacular views all along. At the end of the road is a parking area with an information centre and small museum exhibiting the flora and fauna of the park. Orchid enthusiasts will be captivated by the 30 varieties growing in the park.
There are three marked walking routes through the park marked with coloured arrows. The green route is the shortest and easiest at 1.5 kilometres and taking about 30 minutes. The yellow route is 2.5 kilometres, taking you to "Las Ventanillas" (The Windows) at 1,200 metres for panoramic views of the valley of Málaga. The red route is the longest and most difficult, at 4.5 kilometres it takes about three hours, with a viewing point 1,339 metres altitude where you can see the whole of El Torcal Park and the Africa Coastline.
Also nearby is Lobo Wolf Park it has 40 hectares of protected, untouched nature park with numerous rare plant and animal species it is located at Ctra Antequera-Alora Km 16, Tel: 952 031 107 The park features Four large enclosures with European wolves, Timber wolves, Polar wolves and Iberian wolves. A petting zoo, horse riding and wolf tours and museum.
Grutas - caves used in Temple of Doom film are in Aracena
Antequera is an historic town and also boasts a superb 18 hole golf course. As mentioned above closer to the villa is The Laguna nature reserve for bird watching , walking and picnics. From the villa follow signs for aguilla del a fontera and then signs for Laguna Nature. (It's qiute a long winding road going back on yourself.)

The coast & beyond
Now moving to the coast It takes about 1 hour 15 minutes to get to Malaga from the villa . Malaga town is a very busy town with a lovely beach. There is a market on Sunday. Then there's Fiuengorola for the lovely beaches and the fantastic shopping centre mira mar it has all the British shops and also some lovely Spanish shops it also has all the fast food places to eat and is typical of the costa del sol. Benalmadena is also a lovely place the marina is wonderfu, and it is a little quieter than Fiuengorolal.

Granada a day trip not to be missed visit the Alhambra and also the cave houses where at night the gypsies who live there do flamenco dancing in the bars. It takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to Granada don’t forget the Sierra Nevada which is a bit further out but absolutely wonderful.

Seville is a must the Cathedral the third largest in the world is breathtaking and Giralda tower are stunning the view across the whole of Seville is lovely also a picnic in Park Maria Luisa is a great way to relax after all that walking around or a ride around the city in a horse drawn cart will take you to the Plaza de Espana and through beautiful gardens in the city centre.
Gibraltar and Morocco are also good days out but maybe an overnight stay would be a nice treat after all that driving. Day trips to Gibraltar are available by coach from Mollena for more information please ask Pete & Sylvia.

So as you can see there is a vast amount to keep you busy on your stay here but, you could always decide to do nothing and relax all day by the pool soaking up the Spanish sun . Its entirely up to you the peace and quiet here helps you truly unwind. What you do when you’ve unwound is up to you.
