Rental Property Description

Property Location

Extending eastwards from the harbour town of Girne(Kyrenia) is a quiet scenic coastal road interspaced with the odd restaurant, two private beach resorts (open to the public for a small charge), sandy and rocky coves, a championship 18 hole golf club, a sandy beach with beach restaurant and a few villa and apartment complexes of differing density. Twenty minutes along this pleasant road is the slightly elevated village of Esentepe.
Esentepe is a typically Cypriot village built around it’s one main street which houses the civic buildings, mosque and fire station, small primary school as well as a minimarket, modern patisserie/coffee shop, internet cafe, and three good traditional style restaurants. The ‘village centre’ as such is less than five minutes walk from the Villa.
Closer to the property is a Cypriot family run restaurant, with stunning views which, with the exception of the odd passing tourist, appears to be patronised exclusively by the six villas owners and guests. Hassan and his wife Katrina do not speak a word of English but this does not detract from their friendliness and they show obvious delight in ensuring your meal, whilst basic, is served and enjoyed as if a banquet.
Four minutes walk down the meandering hill towards the sea is a British run Hotel and bar/restaurant which serves both local and international cuisine, including ‘English cooked breakfast’. Sports fans will appreciate the fact that the Hotel has Sky TV and a large plasma screen television.
By car all that North Cyprus has to offer is easily accessible from Esentepe. Six minutes down the coast road is the Korineum Golf and Country club which, apart from superb golf, offers five star service and facilities for surprisingly little cost.
Two minutes further down the road is the famous Alargadi (Turtle) Beach which because of it’s Reserve status is totally unspoilt. A discreet beach restaurant and Toilet facilities ensure you will visit this enchanting oasis of tranquillity on more than one occasion. If more is required another mile or so further along the road are two private Beach resorts whilst more crowded ( at least by North Cyprus standards) offers everything you may wish for.
Gerne is approximately 20 minutes drive from Esentepe, and closer to the town, yet still some distance from the ‘hustle and bustle’ of the tourist areas, are supermarkets, restaurants of all descriptions and a Casino.
The large old part of Gerne (Kyrenia) is the most attractive. Cluttered around the crescent shaped Harbour crowded with fishing and excursion boats, are good restaurants and quality jewellery and dress shops. Guarding the Harbour entrance is a Crusader period Castle, a visit here is a must if just for its lovely views.
Gerne is situated in a narrow plain with the sea to one side and the beautiful xxxx mountains to the other. From the town are tarmaced roads leading to quaint mountain restaurants, Hillarion castle perched impossibly on a steep mountain side and the enchanting Bellapais Abbey.




Description of Olive Tree Villa

‘Olive Tree Villa ‘ is a detached contemporary style property being one of six located in a paved and landscaped cul-de-sac situated in a quiet position on the edge of Esentepe village but within just minutes walk to it’s cultural and religious centre.
The Villa is south facing with most of the gardens, all three bedrooms, and the pool and patio areas facing northwards towards the sea.
The entrance hallway, via landscaped front garden, leads to the kitchen and communal area. The Kitchen is well equipped with all usual appliances and has sufficient cutlery, crockery, utensils etc for six people.
Separating the kitchen from the open plan dining and lounge areas is a Breakfast bar. The living areas are tastefully furnished without being cluttered. The most striking feature of this area is undoubtably the floor to ceiling windows running the entire length of two adjacent sides of the room. The sea and mountain views from any part of the communal area , and indeed from all the bedrooms, are simply breathtaking.
The Villa has three bedrooms, two doubles on the first floor and a twin on the ground floor. All three bedrooms have fitted cupboards and two have ensuite shower/WC. Bedroom 1 has a Patio door leading directly to a large roof terrace with a wooden pergola above. The sunsets from here are beyond description, so much so you will probably be tempted to take a photograph to offer as evidence to relatives and friends back home.
Bedroom 2 has patio doors leading to its own balcony overlooking the pool and from the hallway has access to the roof terrace. Bedroom 3 is situated on the ground floor and has patio doors leading to the pool area. Whilst this bedroom does not have en-suite facilities there is a 3rd shower/wc nearby
The Villa has air-conditioning throughout with both cooling and heating modes. The property is also centrally heated for those cooler spring and autumn nights.
Outside and around all four sides of the Villa are landscaped gardens with trees (including two old olive trees) flowers and fragrant shrubs. An automatic irrigation system ensures the gardens are watered daily.
The private pool is 8x4 metres with both a ladder and walk-in steps. The pool is ideal for swimming the ‘shallow end’ being not that shallow and for this reason it is unsuitable for use by very young unsupervised children. Railings around the pool and large terrace separate these areas from the gardens which are on a slightly lower level. There are cushioned sun loungers and patio tables and chairs enough for eight people. Beside the pool is a large stone built Barbecue.
The panoramic views of sea and mountains from the pool and terraces are truly spectacular.
External lights are situated in the pool, around the pool and around all four sides of the property. In addition the brick paved and landscaped communal road to the front of the property is provided with street lamps.
