Villa Calista is a new (Jan 2006) 2 bedroomed property, the last to be built in an exclusive complex of houses It is situated in the popular, centrally situated Universal Area with easy access to tourist attractions, shops and beaches. Building operations on the complex have come to an end so you should be able to enjoy a fairly quiet holiday. The complex has a large communal pool which is situated close enough for convenience, yet far enough from the house not to have to put up with the noise of children playing in the pool. The house is on stilts with private parking available under the house. There are also shower and toilet facilities under the house for use before and after swimming or to clean up after beach trips. The house is tastefully furnished to a high standard with air conditioners in both bedrooms as well as in the living area. The kitchen is fully fitted and we have gone to a lot of trouble to ensure that you have everything you would need for a self catering holiday. We also own Villa Artemis [property reference 30910) which is attached to this villa. Should you wish to book with relatives or friends, the two villas can be booked together. Our properties are owner managed which allows us to add those extra little touches like a welcoming chocolate on your pillow and a breakfast welcome pack if you are flying in with no time to shop. We are available 24/7 to ensure that you experience a trouble free holiday in our villa.
***NB. NOTE FROM THE OWNER: ON THE 1ST OF SEPTEMBER 2008 THEY STARTED BUILDING A PRIMARY SCHOOL ON THE VACANT LOT NEAR OUR COMPLEX. I AM TOLD THAT BUILDING OPERATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO LAST ABOUT 18 MONTHS. THERE MAY THEREFORE BE SOME NOISE PRESENT DURING THIS TIME. HOWEVER, NONE OF OUR RENTERS WHO STAYED DURING THE SUMMER OF 2009 WERE BOTHERED BY EXCESS NOISE AND THEY WERE ALL VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR STAY. IF THEY REMAIN ON SCHEDULE, THE BUILDING SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY APRIL 2010.

About Paphos:
Paphos is located on the South-West coast, and is one of the most popular resorts in Cyprus. It has a wealth of ancient historical sites, excellent property and plenty of Cypriot culture. Compared to other seaside towns, Paphos is much more laid back and family friendly. The national language is Greek but English is widely spoken and road signs are in Greek and English.
There are plenty of beaches and Coral Bay, a 15 minutes drive from Paphos ranks as one of the best beaches in the area. There are three championship golf courses and plenty of sporting facilities available. Its hard to choose from the many restaurants, with some serving local dishes and other specializing in international cuisine ranging from Asian to Mediterranean.
Paphos is made up of Pano Paphos (Upper Paphos) AKA Ktima, and Kato Paphos (Lower Paphos). Ktima is the main business district with local shops, taverns, historic buildings, churches and museums. Kato Paphos (Lower Paphos) is the tourist area with a long promenade lined with hotels, shops and tavernas. Side streets are packed with bars, discos, clubs, restaurants and more shops, with Bar Street entirely dedicated to bars and clubs.
While it is possible to get by without renting a car we really recommend car rental if you are to fully enjoy your stay. A trip to the Troodos Mountains is highly recommended and there is just so much to see and explore on the island.
***NB. NOTE FROM THE OWNER: (01/09/08) TODAY A TEAM OF DIGGER LOADERS HAVE STARTED CLEARING THE VACANT LOT OPPOSITE OUR COMPLEX. I AM TOLD THAT THEY WILL BE BUILDING A PRIMARY SCHOOL THERE AND THAT BUILDING OPERATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO LAST ABOUT 18 MONTHS. THERE WILL THEREFORE BE NOISE PRESENT DURING THIS TIME.
