The villa is newly built in traditional Caribbean design, with high ceilings making the villa very light and airy. It benefits from air conditioning and ceiling fans, or you can simply open the full-width veranda doors to enjoy the natural tradewind breezes. The bedrooms (super-king, queen and twin bedroom) all have air-conditioning. The pool is furnished with relaxing sun loungers, creating a private environment in which to relax. Should you want a break from the sunshine, hideAway also offers a large spacious veranda with table and chairs to sit and enjoy the tropical outdoors from under the cool of the shade, whilst overlooking the garden and pool. The villa, garden and driveway are fully enclosed for your privacy and peace of mind.
A short, 2 minute walk from the front door leads to the hand carved steps that take you down to the beautiful sandy beach of Bottom Bay - one of the most beautiful and relatively undiscovered beaches on the island. Here you can enjoy the unparalleled beauty of a tropical paradise, whilst enjoy a hand-picked refreshing coconut (the locals are always willing to oblige with a quick shiny up the palm trees). There are plenty of other beaches, equally as attractive, within walking distance should you care to explore including Harrismith and Palmetto Bay either side of Bottom Bay.
Barbados is divided into a number of parishes - the largest of which is St Philip, which is situated on the south-east coast and where hideAway is located. The famous Crane Hotel is just a short drive away with its numerous restaurants, shops, cafe and “top 10 in the world” beach.
The location is quiet but well placed for visiting many of the island's main attractions including the stunning East coast beaches including Bathsheba (for surfing), Bath and Cattlewash. There is a small local shop and bar at Wellhouse, which is about 1km away, as well as several other local rum shacks. Five minutes drive away is the Emerald City Shopping Centre at Six Roads with a large supermarket, banks, stores, Post Office and a Chefette restaurant. There is a local fry on the road to Six Roads where you can buy wonderful, freshly cooked fish and BBQ food on certain days of the week.
Our property manager will meet and greet you on arrival at the villa to help you settle in and find your feet. She can also arrange any other requirements you may have such as additional cleaning, hiring of a gas barbecue, high chair or travel cot, babysitting, and even a chef to visit you to cook a Bajan meal and serve it to you on the veranda.
